It’s a busy Saturday here in my shop and I’m in my elements. Thankfully, the dreaded  impending migraine went away after a day of experiencing prodrome (an early symptom indicating the onset of an attack)… doubly thankful that my little ones are getting well.

I made a mental note the other day I was out for an errand and checked the colors in display these days.  I’m not surprised that green is emerging despite the fact that turquoise has been declared the color of the year.  Maybe because people want to veer away from the norm? 2 years ago I bought a green top in a flea market in Milan and I loved the color.  Seen below is the green top I’ve worn on a visit to the Last Supper  ( Cenacolo Vinciano).

The actual color of the top is vibrant which I actually love most amongst the huge selections of green. Upon looking at the pantone palette, the color I really really love is called Vivid Green, which is a tone lighter than emerald green.

Late last year, I’ve been looking for a pair of flat slip-on in green. I did found one on a trip to HK (horribly, saw exactly the same one in 168 in Divisoria for a 1/8 the price of the slip-on) but I never did get the penchant to wear it often.  Maybe my shoe taste is subdued  but I love shoes nonetheless.

There was a time I liked the look of a green eye shadow which I’ve seen on TV anchors/broadcasters.  Sadly, it didn’t enhance my eyes. I gave up on greens all together, well, except for that top which I’ve managed to keep even if it bore holes already (eeeekkk).  It will eventually turn into a night top, me thinks.

Back to the green colors I’ve been spotting on store displays, although it’s not that popular yet, I’d like to think it’s going to be a hit!  Well, my bridal files say so! A handful of my clients intelligently (!) picked green as their motif. It’s actually very interesting than the usual pink motif.  Unlike pink, green has a larger scope in hues, 490 colors! I counted them! Hehe =) From the faintest Morning Mist (pantone 12-5204 TPX) to the intense Darkest Spruce (pantone 19-5212 TPX). It’s good to wear green these days and be the first few to parade it than wait till it becomes so ubiquitously in fad that you’d look like a throng of grasshoppers  in the mall (gasp!).

My bestfriend is getting married this April 10 and of course she gave me the honor of making her bridal gown and entourage.  Then again, of course, green is naturally her motif! Green being her fave color and her fave state of mind…hahaha!  Love you, mg! I’m so excited!

Introducing my collection for 2010: silhouettes in various forms and whites in different shades. Varied but all encompassing very fine details of tridimensional artwork in intricate beading, embroidery and noveau techniques.  These are sketched collections promising to be gorgeous masterpieces for that important walk on the aisle.

I’ll be producing each of these gowns in the coming months. 

One thing I’d like to bring back to my work studio is the fabric merger.  Recently, I’ve new clients who  gave comments on gowns I’ve made from eons ago.  They loved it. I’m inspired by their wonderful nostalgia of the creations I’ve made a long time ago that I felt I have to bring it back.  So, now I’m introducing white on white in fabric merger.  I could still consider it art noveau.  I haven’t seen it done before (except for recent fabric given by a client from Vietnam) and now that I’m introducing it once again, I’m hoping it will be well-received and reviewed (5 stars! lol).  

Likewise, the very meticulous detail I’ve minimally dipped in last year will come out in full force in some pieces of the collections.  These are rosettes and true-to-form-haute-couture details.   It’s meticulous, it’s laborious, it’s a nose-bleed work, and it’s going to be a masterpiece.

These new collections have renewed my passion in my art. I am an artist in evolution.  I never want to just sit down and I am ever looking forward for each creation of a wedding gown to unfold and be rightfully claimed by their brides to call their own.  I am ardently thinking and working on designs and details that would bowl over not just the wearer but the onlookers as well.  This job never ceases to excite me. This, after all, is my art.

After a long time in seclusion, I’ve finally given in to placing an ad through the Bride’s yellow pages.  I’ve used the website look as my ad (thanks to Benz Rana’s artist for doing the work).  The artist used an sms message  I’ve placed in the testimonial as part of the ad.  I sent my client a message informing him of the text usage.  I was surprised and so overwhelmed with his good words when he gave me the heads up. Mr. & Mrs. Eric Baguisa (nee Dr. Jennifer Angeles), your good words will forever inspire me to do my craft really well.  I truly treasure it.  Wonderful news on baby Lucas!May God wonderfully bless your marriage; let love and happiness stay with you forever!

Ever since I started to read  Martha Stewart and different wedding blogs, it made me want to start blogging with the things I’m really passionate with.  Of course, it goes without saying, I’m going to write about wedding, fashion, and a myriad of things I am interested in.  So, having a redesigned website upped my guts to start a blog and incorporate it in my website.  I’m sooo loving my new website design and I hope you like it as much as I do. I’m excited over it and I promise to keep on updating so you’ll keep coming back to my site. I’ll be sharing wedding tips in one section, mostly concerning  my area of interest which is fashion.  But I’d also be sharing with you aside from fashion, some ideas, products, and people I meet from my wedding encounters.

I couldn’t wait to start blogging away and with many things running through my mind, I couldn’t choose a perfect initial topic! Only to realize that I only have to start with the events that started my year so right, so glam, and so perfect!

My first bride for this year is Ruby Abella who resides in Canada.  I made her wedding gown and I absolutely loved it! She looked so radiant and every inch a bride.  The only thing that got me really nervous was she didn’t want to try on the gown!  Gasp! Till the very eve of her wedding, I was hoping she would try it on. My luck didn’t get any better.  So I requested for an early time for dress up. Alas, the fit was perfect! Sexy bride! What a lucky day it turned out to be =)

In the span of more than ten years I’ve been creating gowns, pictures elude me! So please, feel free to email me your picture wearing your gown ( my creations, of course) and I’ll proudly post it in the Real Brides gallery if it’s a wedding gown and in the Celebrations gallery if it’s an evening wear. Would  a cocktail dress as a gift (customized) for the winner pic entice you to send your pics? I sure do hope so!
